How do you
feel about twitter? Could it be a good
tool for democracy? Can ordinary people
make the promotional materials of a country more interesting and
authentic, or is it too easy to slip into vulgarism? What do you think about twitter blocking
people? Is this censorship? Is the need to block people a sign that
twitter, and the internet in general, has changed for the worse?
Hi. Welcome to the blog for my IB English B class at Jur Hronec High School in Bratislava, Slovakia. Below you will find links to other websites and discussion questions. My students are required to comment on one of these postings every month and also respond to each other's comments. Death without discretion. Noisy obsequies.

How can
ceremonies and rituals around the death of someone we love help us to
cope? Does reading this article about
funeral rituals in India make you wonder, as it did me, whether our funeral
rituals have become too staid in the West to be of any use? Would the career of a mourner or a funeral
musician interest you?
If you don’t see me around, look me up in a book

What can
you do to get respect or make your voice heard when people and organisations
around you would prefer that you were silent? Is literature a good way of
making others aware of the existence of those who are oppressed? Would
you be interested in reading any of these books? (Feel free to follow the links.)
