Is Tumblr more than just orthographically challenged?
How can the
format of social sites on the internet influence their content? If you would like to encourage creativity
and thoughtful expression, what are some of the best ways to do it? Is the dumbing down of internet interaction
inevitable? Do you agree with this
articles negative view of tumblr? What
is your preferred site and why?
This article caught my attention mainly because the format and the look of social sites, is quite popular nowadays. Since the majority of people visiting the social sites are children under 18 at their puberties or young people over 18, the social sites are becoming more and more attractive. The attraction depends on the choice of colors, writing fonts or amount of written text.
ReplyDeleteIf the format of a social site is attractive and eye-catching with variety of tools to visits of these sites can be increased. People tend to visit sites, which they like. So once they were attracted, there is a great possibility that they will come back again and again. The format of the content should not be overloaded because no one likes to read long texts about “nothing.” If the content of the social sites is for example in bullet points, numbered or in small boxes it will be more attractive for sure. In order to encourage the creativity, I would ask some young people to help me with giving various ideas and opinions for and attractive social site because more people can do much better than only one person with own thoughts and ideas. The objective variety can be closely related to creativity provided.
Personally, I am not a huge fan of social sites because it contributes to overall social isolation, which may reveal in lack of time for real friends. So I share most of the ideas with negative view of tumblr. Since I am not a fan of social sites like tumblr, as I already mentioned above, I consequently do not have a preferred site.
